“…This is why a vote for me, Emma Green, is a vote for a more secure and powerful school. Vote Emma for emancipation."
The green tinged, odorless smoke disintegrated into curly wisps that, instead of suggesting power and freedom, reminded her of a snake-headed Medusa.
“Definitely not.” Emma muttered, swatting at the remaining tendrils. How could the non- magics create their speech if she, one with faulty but semi-consistent magic, couldn't get it right?
I should ask best friend for help. She would know, even if she hadn't accessed her magic yet. Emma lunged towards the door only to freeze, forgetting best friend was her competition. No, she had to get it right all on her own. “Take twenty-one, here we go..”
“Greetings Altamont Academy. As you know, we are in a dire state. It's crucial we band together for the safety and protection of witches and presumed witches everywhere. My name is Emma Green, third year student, and I've successfully completed Spells 101 and 201 with the highest honors.
“I have many exciting plans to take Altamont Academy into this new world where we will be safe. We will be strong. We will be free. Vote Emma free emancipation.”
This time, the jade green smoke broadcasting her speech exploded into green, purple, and white fireworks. “Yes!” she shouted, raising both hands high. White and black sparks sprayed from her finger tips like little sparklers. Oops. At least her roommate was gone so there were no mishaps to this accident.
Her speech could be better, of course, but it was probably good enough to beat the best friend and Roger. She instructed the wispy remnant on where to go and it whipped away through the side crack of the door.
Now to double check her campaign posters.
More to come...
